Project: NITTY GRITTY BLUES CD

This project was nothing but fun from beginning to end.

The song NITTY GRITTY BLUES was created to be used directly in my series SMOKING GUNS, and is actually featured prominently in the current story "TWO TO TANGO". It was written by myself, and recorded along with Mike Clancy (r) and John Korpiel (l).
The front cover (or facing side of the insert) illustration was loosely based on photos taken the day of the session. The suits and appropriate color schemes were added afterwards, and intended to complement the suits of Colt and Charlie, who appear on the other side of the insert.

The base art was rendered traditionally, first in pencil and then with brush, pen & ink. It was colored using PhotoShop. The text for the exteriors was also added in PhotoShop. The design and layout for the insert interior and cd tray was done in Illustrator.
